Our Board of Directors... Kenneth Burrow - President Rebecca Principe Dana Gantz - Secretary Meet our 2010 Board Additions:
Sara Brockmeier - Treasurer Sara enthusiastically joined the ACS Board in October. She brings over 9 years of non-profit experience, including volunteer and event coordination and project management. Her work experiences range from a natural foods coop to recycling non-profits, and from adventure trip leading to volunteer coordination at Oregon Food Bank. currently she manages a training program in energy conservation and efficiency. Sara has a bachelor’s degree in environmental science and is a Master Recycler. She is looking forward to supporting the mission of ACS and being a part of the exciting projects lined up for 2010. Michelle Hascall Lifelong interest in Nature, growing food and living close to the land. Jennifer James Jennifer’s great passion for the natural world has been cultivated since childhood. This love was found walking through the fields and ‘forests’ of Ohio and by harvesting, processing and appreciating wild foods and garden-fresh produce. An ‘Alternative Agriculture’ course during college sent Jennifer rollicking into the world of plants and the precious roles they play in our lives. Jennifer earned a Certificate in Ecological Horticulture at UCSC. Utilizing this knowledge, she taught Propagation and Greenhouse Management to adults through the Center for Agroecology and Sustainable Food Systems. She has also created grant-funded middle school gardens and taught outdoor Environmental Education. Additionally, she has worked on Organic Farms throughout the West Coast of North America, Ohio, Hawaii, and New Zealand, and acknowledges the importance of healthy food in the lives of all beings. Jennifer endeavors to be active in the education and empowerment of youth, encouraging them to make healthy choices for themselves and Our World. Dave Moss Dave Moss is excited to be a part of ACS after an around-the-world trip where he observed and experienced many environmental challenges that face the global community today. He has roots around the U.S. and the world, but is thankful to be planted in the fecund Willamette Valley. Dave is an aspiring teacher and a constant student. Sara Sutter Sara Sutter is happy to team up with the ACS to promote food self-sufficiency and community collaboration. Sara has applied herself as an organizer for various causes and finds environmental work ultimately satisfying because it is an issue that involves everyone.
